Hi, Sandy! Tell us about your background and credentials in health and wellness.
I am an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with a MSN in Community Health, Board Certified Holistic Nurse, Certified Healing Touch Practitioner, with extensive training in mind/body medicine, mindfulness, guided imagery, aromatherapy and movement modalities. My early career was focused on corporate health and wellness, and I have also been a Hospice Nurse and Oncology Nurse, and have heard many people's life stories. Through listening to so many patient and client life histories, I realized the power of the mind/body connection and moment to moment choices.
I studied the growing body of research on the mind body connection. Specifically, the power of attention to our thoughts, behaviors, emotions and attitudes, in addition to basic healthy living including good nutrition, daily exercise and a spiritual source of support. I then studied Healing Touch Energy Therapy and became a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner. It was a great tie in to offer nurturing heart centered energy to help minimize stress, serve as a vehicle to reduce pain and also energize, remove congested energy and help to improve the flow of chi (body's natural energy) throughout the body.
What drew you to The Practical Path® Medical Intuitive Training™?
I had read a lot about Medical Intuition, having read "Anatomy of the Spirit" by Carolyn Myss many years ago. I had also heard many national experts, including physicians, share stories about the role of emotions, stress and heartbreak in affecting how and why people get sick. I wanted to study Medical Intuition, to help serve my clients in a more holistic way.
I had heard about Wendie Colter's extensive background teaching and speaking and wanted to study with an expert who had high ethical standards.
How does Medical Intuition support your professional practice?
As a Holistic Nurse, Medical Intuition supports me in the assessment phase when I interact with a client. My clients want to know what is at the source of their pain, discomfort or stress they may be holding in various points of their body, in addition to the medical information they receive from physicians or other licensed medical professionals.
I feel I am able to more personalize the session for well being and lifestyle choices as Medical Intuition helps me to pinpoint the most appropriate suggestions/referrals for that visit.
I feel I am more grounded and also able to offer more to my clients because of the skills I learned in The Practical Path® Medical Intuitive Training™.
How does Medical Intuition support your personal life?
Medical Intuition helps me to make wise choices in the moment, from a calm and certain place. If I am confused about a decision, connecting with my highest, intuitive self helps to remove the guessing. I am more quickly able to discern why I may feel out of sorts, by assessing how or why my energy system may be unbalanced, overstimulated, or perhaps just need more rest.
In other words, answers come more clearly, moment to moment to help me feel my best self and offer my best to the world...and have fun too!
