Certified Practitioner Spotlight - Maya Angal, RN, BSN, CMIP

Hi Maya! Tell us about your background and credentials in health and wellness.

I graduated with my BSN in 2006 and worked as an RN for the next 16 years. I got a wide range of experience through working with cardiac PCU/telemetry patients, diverse populations from med-surg to ICU-level patients through travel assignments, pediatric home health clients and supervision/training of their in-home nurses, inpatient rehabilitation for people recovering from injuries including various neurologic and brain injuries to physical traumas, and as a case manager for special needs Medicare members with complex health and social needs. While it was an honor and privilege to be able to serve these clients, I often felt frustrated by the blind-spots in our healthcare system, which has a tendency to view people through a very reductionist, materialist lens.

While working as a nurse, I also got certified as a Reiki Levels 1 and 2 practitioner, studied Quantum Touch, got certified as a life coach and master life coach, studied mind-body approaches to healing, health, and wellness on my own, and of course completed my training and certification as a Certified Medical Intuitive Practitioner through The Practical Path. I am currently working on an MA/PhD in Source Code Alchemy: Theory and Practice, and once done will be a Source Code Alchemy Practitioner and Shaman. Currently I am self-employed as a mind-body holistic health coach and as a medical intuitive practitioner. I am dedicated to this work to serve clients in a more holistic way that takes into account the complexities of each human life and what creates illness and healing.

What drew you to The Practical Path® Medical Intuitive Training™?

I was attending the online Science of Healing Summit through The Shift Network a few years ago and came across an interview with Wendie about her work in medical intuition, and I was so impressed with the holistic view, and the thoroughness and integrity of her approach to medical intuition. I firmly believe there is valid science behind a lot of what is considered "woo-woo," and finally here was someone who had developed a systematic, repeatable process to use intuition in healthcare settings that was also backed up by research. I think many people in healthcare are aware of their natural intuitive inclinations, but it's something we aren't really allowed to talk about or admit to in most settings. This training offered a way to use my healthcare background and my intuition together in a way that could better support my clients and allow fully be myself in the world of healthcare.

How does Medical Intuition support your professional practice?

This training program gave me the skills and confidence to use my intuition in a way that feels validated, ethical, thorough, and holistic, and has given me a process I feel confident allows me to provide valuable information to my clients that helps them achieve their own healing. Prior to this training, I knew I had a lot of intuitive potential but did not know how to use it in a way that would provide consistent and impactful results for clients. I feel like I have this secret superpower that allows me to see into peoples' lives in a way they haven't been able to do for themselves, and in doing so can give them the information they need to change their health and their lives. I believe this should be the driving force behind healthcare at all times.

How does Medical Intuition support your personal life?

When I started training as a medical intuitive, I thought this would be like any other training, in which the focus is primarily on providing some sort of healing or service to the client. Like many people in healing professions, I got stuck in the trap of focusing on everyone else's needs while ignoring my own - our healthcare system praises and practically demands this. Through Wendie's process, I learned just how important it is to focus on my own energetic hygiene first so that I can show up for clients with a clean slate. I received the skills and more importantly, the permission, to provide myself the same level of care I give to others, and now I am able to show up fully in my own life and have so much more to give to clients.

Is there anything else you would like to let people know?

I am so grateful to have received this training in medical intuition and am honored to be able to provide this service to clients.
